Mountain Creek bid farewell to the 2009-2010 winter season while raising money for a local cause this past Saturday. The 1st ever Stockpile Session brought 200 diehard skiers and snowboarders back to the hill one last time. Thanks to their generosity, nearly $1,500 was raised for the VSMO. Video produced by Halley O’Brien Share We went to Sierra-at-Tahoe after arriving in South Lake Tahoe the night before. The whole area is stunning – lake, mountains, sun and snow. We started with some park laps through Bashful and Lower Bashful. Super fun features, well built jumps – a good mix of your regular jibs with some more unique things scattered around. We bid farewell to Mammoth Lakes and drove through the desert for part 2 of our trip: Tahoe. The whole contrast from desert to mountains in the same scope is unreal. It really makes me wonder why anyone lives in ugly places… (Myself included.) $75 in gas, a bathroom break in a creepy casino and a [...] Demo Reel Halley’s Rapid Play Halley’s Mount Snow Minute Share It’s kind of crazy escaping 70* weather for powder days and temps no higher than 30*. We spent 3 days riding Mammoth – two were sunny and windy, one brought 2 feet of untracked powder. So good! In keeping with the new experiences thing, this is my first time… I flew into Eagle/Vail on Friday the 19th and met up with some friends from Shred Betties. Locals and somewhat powder snobs, they claimed Colorado was having a bad snow year. Maybe they are, but when you ride Jersey regularly and trek to Vermont occasionally… their worst day will always be one of my best. We [...] This video is out of control. Sure, it doesn’t hurt to have a mountain covered in powder to shoot, but everything about it is sick – skiing and snowboarding, RIDICULOUS back country riding, natural jibs, man-made jibs, powder slashes, cliff drops, some commentary, decent background track… Plus, it’s the perfect length. You’ll watch from beginning [...] Yup, that pretty much describes Airblaster to a “T”. If you’re into that kind of thing, get your credit card ready – Airblaster’s 2010 outerwear is going to put a bright, flamboyant smile on your face. I’ve always been super jealous of the patterns, prints and overall awesomeness Nomis spoon fed the guys. Finally, Nomis Design is throwing us girls a bone – women’s outerwear is now available. I am stoked. Allow me to quote the fake Sean Connery from SNL’s Celebrity Jeopardy: “The day is mine, Trebek!” I don’t think you can ever have enough beanies. Good thing DAKINE’s 2010 site is live and I can plan my fictitious wardrobe around one of these domes. For a little après-ski action, [...] |
