Would you recommend them to a friend? Yes.

We tested the TREW Gear Eagle Pant in Black and the Bellows Jacket in Remix. They proved to be stylish, durable and comfortable with a few minor setbacks.

Fit.
If you like to wear your gear baggy, loose and comfortable, then these will suit you just fine. A happy medium leaving you happily baggy.

Waterproof.
The gear is extremely waterproof with fully taped seams. You won’t get wet in these regardless of the conditions – powder, hard pack, and slush. Doesn’t matter. You’re covered. We tested these on a rainy (but super fun) day and the drive home was comfortable and dry.

Windproof.
They’ll keep you warm on windy days. The jacket is a shell, so it’s not going to provide intense insulation, but it’ll block the wind. The pants have a fleece lined butt area. The cold lift ride just got a little cozier.

Customize ‘em.
Very customizable with sizing in the waist. There’s a ton of Velcro on the inside of the pants – no predetermined waist sizes. Feel free to super size your meal, because they’ll keep fitting.

Pockets.
There are a lot of them, and they’re deep so you’ll fit all your snowboarding crap without a problem. The top two hand pockets were the Achilles heel of the gear – the waterproof zippers are recessed in the pants hand pockets making it very hard to open and close with a glove on. Plus, snow tended to get trapped there and once it started melting (because on the east coast, our snow tends to do that), it left a nasty puddle. No bueno.

Boot gaiters.
They’re not customizable, so if you have a thin boot… they’ll be floating around on you. Meatier boots, better gaiter performance.

The rubber on the bottom of the pants is pretty sick. Resort parking lots suck – they’re muddy, rocky, pot hole-y… etc. The bottom of your pants wont get chewed up by angry parking lots.

Fly zippers.
There are two zipper handles, so you can open your fly the standard downward zip motion, or be daring and zip upward. Not sure why this is a feature.

Overall, we liked TREW Gear. Very well made with excellent tech ratings and a few features you never realized you needed… until now.

Just so you know, sizing runs BIG. I always go with a medium. I got 2 out of the 3 in medium and they were huge – exchanged them for a small.

Burton Player Hooded Full-Zip
“Curacao”

LOVE this hoodie. The color is beautiful! There’s some embroidery on the back, but nothing crazy. It has awesome thumb-holes (aka: thumb-ies!!). The sleeves are a great length – I hate when sleeves ride up or don’t sit around your wrist/hand area. The torso’s length is super long, too. Burton says it’s so the shirt doesn’t un-tuck when you’re strapping in. Whatever the reason, I love it. It looks good with just about everything. Super versatile. It is thin… definitely not your typical hoodie thickness, but that’s good for layering. Oh, and it’s stretchy, too.

Burton Player Flannel
“Liftline Lolita Player Plaid”

This shirt is ADORABLE. It’s so weird! You’d never know it was made with DRYRIDE fabric – it feels just like your typical flannel shirt. The torso isn’t very fitted – it’s feminine, but not super tight like a typical button down blouse would be. The sleeves are an average length, torso is long. (Cute with a pair of skinny jeans and dare I say… Uggs?) NO give in the fabric. This is where this layer differs from the other two. It’s only downside are the cuffs… WAY too tight. I’ll keep mine unbuttoned as streetwear, buttoned when layering. The color is gorgeous, too.

Burton Lightweight Crew
“A Work Of Art Print.”

This is the one I originally got in a small. It fits tight like under armour with a little less stretch. The length in the sleeves and torso is good. I really like this layer in particular because of the neckline. In my opinion, the print is the best of the 3 offered.

BONUS non-layering hoodie: Boundary in Curacao.

This hoodie is long and luscious. Colors are awesome, too. Done.

This time, I straight-up ransacked the Burton line. I gotta say, I’m truly looking forward to my fancy new shell. (It’s purple-ish!!!!) Oh, and baggy black pants. Perfect for on-snow events.

I really dig the way Burton outerwear is cut. It seems like B’s research & development is super thorough and that results in wicked comfy gear (that also looks good, too).

Once I get the stuff  for realsies, I’ll snap some photos and post ‘em up with a review… or several.

The Vita Park is packed the tech found in the Park Series, a smaller waist width and proportional geometry specific to a woman’s needs. Schwing! Plus, it’s got a soft flex and a legit range of sizes available. Jib-stick it up with a 135cm (smallest size offered) or charge just about anywhere on a 153cm (largest size).

Signal’s premiere women’s deck comes with playful, simplistic graphics. Everyone loves fresh powder. Everyone also loves blue. Put ‘em together and you have a corny joke and the Vita Park’s color scheme.

They’ve got some super cute color schemes, too. I’m a sucker for teal, so the Long Sup Long Sleeve Layer immediately caught my eye. I really like this shirt because it’s versatile and simplistic. I’d wear it jogging in the fall, then use it as a base layer in the winter.

I also really like the Studio Loose Capris. These black capris have a forgiving fit – perfect as a winter base layer. They’ll cinch around your sock and won’t bunch at the top of your boot. And you better believe these eco-friendly pants will wick moisture away to keep you dry.

In short, the Image Quest is a photography competition on ‘roids.

International photographers submit their action & adventure sport images. Why? Because their photos could be “celebrated, honored and exhibited in mind-blowing venues around the world.”  Granted, you have to actually win first.

The first Red Bull Illume Image Quest was very successful back in 2007. It was the first-ever international photography comp celebrating action/adventure sports – 2000 photogs entered, 50 finalists had their work showcased throughout North America.

Photos must be submitted between October 1, 2009 & January 31, 2010. I could list the other rules & regs, but you’re probably better off getting it from the source.

The Astro

A down puffy with 15,000mm waterproofing, ninja cuffs and other subtle details to keep you on the hill all day long. I love the texture of the jacket, the crooked zipper and the color (Violet) is wicked. If I were the one wearing this, I’d definitely look a little more excited about it.

The Echo

This shell is sweet. Bonfire included a rating system on their page similar to Facebook’s “Like” button. As I write this, 14 people “like” the Echo. I clicked “Like” because I couldn’t find the “I must have this jacket now” button. Check out the Echo’s specs here.

The Mt Hood

Lastly, and most impressively, the Mt Hood brings us mellow colors, diesel waterproofing (20k!) and the coolest lining ever. Check out its hood! (Get it? Mt Hood, colorful hood? Har har.) It’s also got full 120g of 80/20 down insulation. I’d say this jacket warrants the $300 price tag for sure.

Girls Snowy

POM POM and Bonfire collaborated to create this super cute shell. The classic fitting Girls Snowy, also in Violet, is the perfect jacket for mini-shredders that want basic functionality that looks good. With a closer look, you’ll see the POM POM logo thrown about – design by Sarah Cameron at Magical Go-Go wax.

Yup, that pretty much describes Airblaster to a “T”. If you’re into that kind of thing, get your credit card ready – Airblaster’s 2010 outerwear is going to put a bright, flamboyant smile on your face.

The fit of their gear looks wicked comfortable for both girls and guys. At first glance, I was instantly drawn to these jackets and pants:

Airblaster’s Ninja Suits take care of those too lazy to grab base-layers. I was a bit skeptical at first knowing how annoying it is to use the bathroom all geared up. We unbutton this, unhook that and try not to drop our gloves in the toilet. Luckily, Airblaster thought of that and included a “slash zip at rear lower waistband for easy bathroom access.” Schwing!

Also, I’ve been on the lookout for a pair of pants that have a fitted, boot-cut style with a bit bagginess to them. I’m thinking these guy’s pants might just be the solution. Check out the pants Airblaster put together for the boys… that still may work for the girls.
