It’s kind of crazy escaping 70* weather for powder days and temps no higher than 30*. We spent 3 days riding Mammoth – two were sunny and windy, one brought 2 feet of untracked powder. So good!

In keeping with the new experiences thing, this is my first time…

- snowboarding in California
- riding a mountain of that size (Not sure where to start… or where to go. Trail map anyone?)
- charging through untracked powder up to my waist (Yes. It was amazing. One of my best days on snow.)
- dropping in from a cornice into an enormous bowl (…without realizing there was a cornice there. It was humorous to those still on the cornice.)
- encountering the most amazing/disturbing series of animal statues (I think the pictures are hilarious. You probably had to be there.)

All that aside, Mammoth was sweet. The snow was phenomenal and the parks were fun (though pictures of my limited trickery would probably just bore you). Chock it up to good weather and great timing.
