To be honest, I’m not really that invested in this championship grudge match – I’ve only started to follow hockey two or three years ago. I’m more of a football fan(atic) and based on my undying devotion to the New York Giants, I took a shining to the New York Rangers. Teams and loyalties aside, I think it’s pretty cool that the Penguins have a second chance at the Red Wings for the Cup. While it isn’t the first time the Stanley Cup Finals saw a rematch (Oilers vs. Islanders – ‘83 & ‘84), it’s still very exciting, moreso for the Penguins than the rest of us, I’d imagine. And if the Pen’s win it all (series tied 2-2), it might make last season’s defeat a little easier to swallow. Just my 2 cents.
